Today marks Prince Harry's 39th birthday, and he's celebrating at the Invictus Games in Düsseldorf, Germany, with his wife and all the athletes participating in the event. People reports that this morning, competitors and spectators alike at the sitting volleyball match between Poland and Germany offered a festive performance of "Happy Birthday" to the prince, who smiled the whole time and offered the crowd a thumbs-up for their services.

This morning, Invictus Games organizers posted a sweet message to Harry, writing, "From all of us at the @InvictusGamesDE, a heartfelt HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the founder and patron of @WeAreInvictus, Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex. You've given hope, inspired millions and never stop putting a smile on peoples faces."

The celebration from the Invictus organization stands in stark contrast to the royal family, which didn't commemorate Harry's birthday with a single mention. People noted that @RoyalFamily (the official channel of King Charles, Queen Camilla, and other royals) and @KensingtonPalace (Prince William and Kate Middleton's account) were radio silent on any mention of Harry's b'day. There doesn't appear to be any hard feelings, however, as Harry and Meghan celebrated last night with Invictus staffers and a meal at the Brauerei Schumacher restaurant (which shared an image from the dinner).

When Harry's brother, William, celebrated his birthday this year, he got a big bell-ringing ceremony from Westminster Abbey. However, since the pandemic, that tradition has been pared down. At first, the official bell-ringing schedule only included the birthdays of Queen Elizabeth and Charles, but later expanded to include Queen Camilla, Catherine, Princess of Wales, and Prince William. Prior to 2020, the bells would be rung to celebrate the birthdays of 12 royals: Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward, Camilla, Prince William, Kate, and their kids: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis
