Born Lenard Larry McKelvey on June 29, 1978,Charlamagne Tha God is an American on-air personality, radio host and, more recently, author. He is popularly known as the co-host of The Breakfast Hub, New York radio’s nationally syndicated show. A show he co-hosts with DJ Envy and Angela Yee.
Growing up in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, McKelvey engaged in drug dealing and was arrested twice for possession of marijuana and cocaine that he intended to distribute. As a teenager, he experienced several gang fights and was arrested a third time after witnessing another shooting in the back seat of a car. He ended up spending over a month in prison when his father didn’t get him out.

And with open honesty, he hopes to break the stigma of seeking urgent treatment.
